PROJECTS & PARTNERSHIPS

Visible impact in remarkable places across the city centre.

VEBA is continually working on projects and partnerships that make Amersfoort’s city centre stronger. Our meetings take place in surprising locations around the centre – from historic theatre halls to characterful canal houses. These places help tell the story of what we achieve together.

THE IMPACT VEBA MAKES

What we have already set in motion together

From vision to delivery: what VEBA has achieved in recent years, and what we’re working on now.

New to the team: City Centre Property Manager

With the arrival of Christien Kuysters as City Centre Property Manager, VEBA gains extra clout. Thanks to support from the Municipality of Amersfoort, the role can be filled on a permanent basis.

  3. IN PROGRESS

Remit of the City Centre Property Manager

Our City Centre Property Manager is working out the next steps. This work is scheduled for the period from 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2027.

Goal: more resources for the city centre

For VEBA, funding is not an afterthought but a precondition. That is why we have set the goal of raising more resources, so that plans for the city centre can actually be delivered.

    COMPLETED

City centre debate at Theater De Lieve Vrouw

VEBA gets the city moving. At Theater De Lieve Vrouw, the association brought councillors, property owners and businesses together for a political debate on the future of Amersfoort’s city centre: a powerful conversation in which knowledge, interests and ideas came together.

    10-point plan drawn up

Our ambitions have been translated into a 10-point plan with concrete actions for the city centre. As the City Centre Coalition, we have drawn up 10 action points, which come together in the following themes:
    - An attractive city centre: improvements to the public realm

    - A lively city centre: a rich and varied offer for everyone

    - A future-proof city centre: a plan that works in the long term

    - Working together in the city centre: clear lines of communication

    COMPLETED

Co-founder of the City Centre Coalition

Together with OBA and DAC, VEBA laid the foundations of the City Centre Coalition (Coalitie Stadshart). Property owners, businesses and the cultural sector now work on one shared agenda for the city centre, rather than each going their own way.

    COMPLETED

‘From challenge to opportunity’ – a new vision and strategy

Together with Boer & Croon, VEBA drew up a new vision and strategy for a sustainable, future-proof city centre. The plan sets out why action is urgent (vacant premises, uneven quality of shopfronts and fragmented sustainability efforts) and translates this into three tracks: accessibility, quality and sustainability.

    COMPLETED

    City Centre Vision

Together with its partners, VEBA set out a shared vision for the heart of the city: a city centre that is attractive, lively and future-proof for residents, visitors, businesses and property owners alike. The vision ties in with the municipality’s pillars: vital and vibrant, surprising and attractive, accessible and liveable.
